JINJER'S PAGE

This is our Rhodesian Ridgeback Jinjer. She was born on June, 25th 2010 at Rhodesian Ridgeback kennel Inkululeku. Jinjer's father lives in this kennel in Germany.

And then Jinjer moved in with us...
   
   

A pup between 7 and 14 weeks old is in a very important phase: in this period it can imprint everything it experiences into its memory. A bus ride, visiting a busy town, contact with children, fire works, the sea, a bath or a shower, people with a different colour of skin or in a wheel chair, other dogs/cats, too many things to list...

For training sessions, tips and lectures we visit An Wesenbeek, professional dog trainer.

Jinjer eats Duck raw food, and is very happy with it ;)

  
   
   
   
   

It is not good for very young pups to walk far distances. This puts too much
strain on the joints. On daddy's arm is okay, though.

 

After a walk by the seaside a pup eats, drinks, and sleeps deeply...
   

We went to a fair, where there were lots of people, a bicycle race, a fireman
in his uniform, lots of sounds and smells. Bouncy castles, too.
Jinjer visited her first basket game, where at first she was scared of the
noises and movements. She then played with a bone a bit and fell asleep.

   
   
   
The cats have claimed the extra basket that I kept on top of Jinjer's bench.
They seem to like their high position a lot. It is an appartment building now

Jinjer doesn't seem to mind her upstairs neighbours.
   
   
Antwerp City...the crowds, the traffic, the pedestrian's tunnel and the old wooden escalators.
   
   
Jinjer finally convinced the cats of the fact that she is not a cat-devouring
monster...by lying in front of the fireplace, in peace. Here and here clips of
this miraculous event.

Jinjer is growing fast. When she came to us she was almost 8 weeks old and she weighed about 8 kilos. When she is 13 weeks old her weight has gone up to almost 15 kilos.

November 2010: Jinjer is almost 5 months old and still sleeps in a very
relaxed manner, in her bench or on a person...

   

November 2010: the first snow has fallen and Jinjer thinks that's great. She digs through the snow to check whether the normal world is still there.

June 2011: Jinjer discovered she can swim!

july 2011: Jinjer goes abroad for the first time. We visit the South of France with her. Out of Africa...but not really :-)

  
   
   
   
   
   

August 2011: we have moved into a house with pastures for our horses,
and Jinjer likes the views. She is very curious towards Laura's rabbits and
our chickens.

   
   

March 2012: Bruce came to visit, and Jinjer loved it.
   

April 2012: there are two new cats in the house now; Bokkie Blu and Jade.
Jinjer makes room fo them on her sofa in the sun.
